Resolution
A Vitualized Archive Manager installation is supported, however Quest Software reserves the right to ask the customer to recreate the issue on physical hardware failing all other avenues of troubleshooting.
Some considerations:
When virtualizing, all measures should be taken to keep the Database components away from the Archive Manager server components.
The SAN should not house the database and the AM working folders on the same LUN.
The AM working folders should be backed up nightly.
The SQL database should be backed up nightly.
Virtualization performance closely matches that of physical hardware and in some cases surpasses it, but a solid virtualization plan is key. Once you begin stripping mail, Archive Manager becomes a mission critical application, and must be treated as such.
