Description
The KACE System Deployment Appliance "Integrity Check" is a simple test that allows the appliance to handle DHCP request in a subnet, to determine if there is an issue with the KACE SDA (PXE booting, Loading a KBE, Capturing or Deploying Images) or the issue lies in the network.

Cause
Network troubleshooting. Make sure your network is properly configured, for the ports needed open in bi-directional manner.
Keep in mind this appliance is designed for LAN deployments, a proper network configuration is required should you want to deploy images over Internet, WAN or MAN. For these scenarios, an RSA (remote site appliance) is recommended. -
Resolution
- Create a private subnet and change SDA's network card to that subnet.
- From SDA, go to Settings | Control Panel | Network Settings and write down the IP address of the KBOX appliance. Enable the option On-Board DHCP Server
- Enter a small range of addresses for the private subnet. KACE SDA will use this range to assign IP address to the client machines. Before saving these changes, make sure is on the isolated network create in step 1. Once the settings are made and saved the KBOX will reboot.
- After the reboot, see if a test computer can get an IP address in the range established earlier. (from Windows: ipconfig /renew)
- After confirming On-Board DHCP is working, restart the computer and boot it to its network card.
- Allow the computer to boot to the KBE Main Menu. Test the functions of the KBOX appliance that were giving issues, such as imaging or scripted OS installs.
Keep in mind anything the KBOX can do in production can be done in this configuration.
