Backup Settings Icon and page missing – Backup Settings not Visible (4213987)

When attempting to access Backup Settings configuration, the Backup Settings icon is missing from the Control Panel page listing.

• For Single ORG SMA go to Settings | Control Panel and search for Backup Settings
• For Multi-ORG SMA from System go to Settings | Control Panel and search for Backup Settings

This is a known issue in SMA version 8.1 and 9.0 under Defect K1-19890 

This is a known issue in SMA version 9.1 under Defect K1-20597

To confirm it is not Role permissions related, log in as local admin (default admin account).

• Single ORG SMA: http://kbox/adminui/settings_backup.php

• Multi-ORG SMA: http://kbox/systemui/settings_backup.php

If Permission denied with local admin, there's a hotfix attached at the bottom of this article.

Note: This hotfix does not require a reboot.

Instructions on applying hotfix:

1. Download the KBIN file from the Attachments section below
2. Go to Settings | Appliance Updates
3. Use Choose File in the Manually Update section to navigate to the KBIN file downloaded in step 1
4. Click Update to the right of the chosen file
5. Once the logs show the KBIN has completed, confirm Backup Settings is now shown.

Note: This hotfix addresses built-in roles. It fixes Administrator and Read Only Administrator so they can view Backup Settings. If the icon is missing for custom roles, go into Settings | Roles | Select the Role and hit Save at the bottom. This should fix the issue for custom roles.
