KACE SMA Windows Agent Installation Properties (4210035)

The KACE Systems Management Appliance agent for Windows supports many switches for individual installation.
They can be used in a GPO or manual installation to change some of the default settings.

• /i : install msi file (example: msiexec /i ampagent-12.0.34-x86.msi)
• /x : uninstall msi file (example: msiexec /x ampagent-12.0.34-x86.msi),  you can also use the agent itself for uninstallation “AMPTools uninstall”
• /qn : silent install (example: msiexec /qn /i ampagent-12.0.34-x86.msi)
• /L*v : create log file (example: msiexec /L*v install.log /i ampagent-12.0.34-x86.msi)
• HOST=: set amp.conf host value (example: msiexec /i ampagent-12.0.34-x86.msi HOST=sma.domain.local) you can also append to msi filename instead (example: msiexec /i ampagent-12.0.34-x86_sma.domain.local.msi)
• TOKEN=: set token value required on new agent install starting agent version 11.0 (example msiexec /i ampagent-12.0.34-x86.msi HOST=sma.domain.local TOKEN=xxxtokenxxx) you can also append the token along with the hostname to the msi filename (ampagent-12.0.34-x86_sma.domain.local+xxxtokenxxx.msi)

The agent token can be found under admin console Settings| Agent Tokens. The agent bundle with host and token embedded can be also downloaded from this page.

• DEBUG=all : set amp.conf debug value (example: msiexec /i ampagent-12.0.34-x86.msi HOST=sma.domain.local TOKEN=xxxxx DEBUG=all)
• NOHOOKS=1 : don’t install boot & logon hook dlls (msiexec /i ampagent-12.0.34-x86.msi HOST=sma.domain.local TOKEN=xxxxx NOHOOKS=1) 
  This property does not change 
  HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows NT/Current Version/Winlogin to C:\WINDOWS\System32\KUsrInit.exe
  Attention! If you set this property you will not be able to run scripts/managed installations etc before an user is logged in and loaded the desktop

• INSTALLLOCATION=: override default program folder (example: msiexec /i ampagent-12.0.34-x86.msi INSTALLLOCATION="D:\My Programs\AMP”)
• ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT=1 : hide from Add/Remove programs view , since 6.2 this option is set by default
