Error Message 3185 - ssh: connect to host port 22: Connection timed out (4047001)

Initial replication fail with error:

Error message: 3185 - ssh: connect to host esx.domain.local port 22: Connection timed out FATAL internal internal error [at pkt_recv_unlock:82]

There is an ssh connection issue, or a network issue preventing source and target esx hosts to communicate with each other.

Test connection between the source and target esx host

• Login [ using root ] to the shell using putty.exe
• ssh from one host to the other, type ssh root@targetIPaddress
• also try ssh from target to source host, type ssh root@sourceIPaddress
• if you cannot connect, then do a ping test,
• check firewall rules,
• check esx host known_hosts file for incorrect entires
