After upgrading to vRanger 5.2.1 cannot see jobs, host or repository in vRanger
The cause is that vRanger was connected to the wrong instance in the SQL Database (Express version).
The resolution is to:
1) Check to see what database vRanger is connected to by looking in Tools -> Options -> Database
2) If it’s not connected to the VRANGERPRO Database Stop the vRanger Services
a. Open Services and Stop all 3 vRanger (Service, FLR Service and API Service) in any order
3) Run the vRanger Database Wizard at Start -> All Programs -> Quest Software -> vRanger Backup & Replication -> vRanger Database
a. Next on the Welcome Screen
b. Choose Install/Upgrade on the existing SQL Server 2005/2008
c. Choose Windows for Server Authentication
d. Click Next
e. Scroll down and choose <Server Name>\VRANGERPRO
f. Domain\User should be grayed out click on Verify
g. It should say Connection Successful.
h. Click OK
i. Click Next
j. Database Server and User Name should be grayed out
k. Click Next
l. The next screen will ask you if you want to upgrade the Database.
m. Click Yes
n. Click Automatic Setup
o. Wait until the wizard installs the Data base and click Next
p. Click Finish
4) Start the vRanger services in the following order
a. vRanger Service
b. vRanger FLR Service
c. vRanger API Service
5) Start the vRanger application
