Follow the steps below:
InstallRequirements
Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express
vRanger Latest build and vRanger lic file.

Install Setup
1.Install vRanger on your new server with all the default settings including the SQL express bundled with the product.
2.Install the vRanger database on your new server with all default settings using your windows credentials.
3.Install the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express on the new server.
4.Install Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express on your old vRanger server

Disable the vRanger services
vRanger API Service
vRanger FLR Service
vRanger Pro Service
1.Restore over the vRangerPro Database using the Option to Overwrite Existing database
If migrating a vRanger 5.x database to another vRanger 5.x installation, please run the following SQL script (assuming vRanger database is installed locally)
1. On the vRanger computer, open a CMD prompt
2. Type the command:
sqlcmd -S \VRANGERPRO -Q "Delete from vRangerPro.dbo.LicenseFeatureHost"
Reconnect to vRanger database
1.Go to start, programs, vizioncore, vRanger, vRanger Pro Database
2.Use server Authentication of Windows (unless you are installing in enterprise SQL)
3.Select the last option, “switch to a different vRanger Pro Database”, Click next
4.Select Verify and click next, and Next again.
5.You will be prompted about an existing database to be upgraded, select yes
6.Click on the automatic setup button, Click next
7.The box to restart vRanger Service should be checked, Click next and finish
Verify Services, start vRanger, and Reconfigure
1.Go into services and start the vRanger services if they have not started automatically
Start vRanger.
2.Go to Tools, and select the Startup Wizard
3.Reimport your license file, Click next
4.Select all your Virtual Centers and reenter your passwords and select update, Click next
5.Select all your ESX hosts and recredentialyour servers and select update, Click next and Next once again
6.Select all your Repository locations and reenter your password and select update, Click next
Click through all the other options and finish the setup.
