The storage options are Fast and Best compression levels and explained below.
Storage Optimization
Fast - Results in shorter backup time, but with less space savings.Best - Provides the highest space savings, but with a longer backup time
The savings difference is very close between the two levels.
After dedupe, it might add 1 to 2 percent increase in storage savings. The cost associated with doing fast/best is in terms of ingesting rate. There is about a 5 percent slowdown.
On top of all of that, it depends on the data .. so these are general guidelines. You can select best if you are willing to sacrifice performance for a bit more savings.
Lastly, another thing to keep in mind is that it is only for future data written. It does not go back to recompress all the data.
