Adding Hyper-V VM's to agentless protection fails with error
"Error Hyper-V Virtual Machine Virtual Agent with id 'xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx' is missing."
Note: in version 6.2.1, attempt to protect VMs agentlessly, after Hyper-V host/cluster was already protected with an agent will cause that protection will silently close and VM won't get added. -
Cause
The Hyper-V host/cluster has already been added to protection.
Currently it is not supported to protect a Hyper-V host \ Hyper-V cluster with the Rapid Recovery Agent and at the same time protect the guest VM's using Rapid agentless protection. -
Resolution
Remove the Hyper-V host/cluster from protection and then use the option to add multiple machines to add the VM's to protection. The next article will show you how to Protect Hyper-V Guests using Agentless Protection with Rapid Recovery
