Rapid Recovery Boot CD BSOD with "HAL INITIALIZATION FAIL" in ESXi 4.x during boot -
Cause
There is a VMware KB detailing this issue.
This issue occurs because Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8 operating system (OS) are not supported in ESXi 4.x. Rapid Recovery Boot CD is based on WinPE 8.1.

Resolution
WORKAROUND
Appassure 5.4.3.106 32-bit Boot CD (Based on WinPE 7) can be used instead to perform the BMR.
Please contact support if you require a copy of the Boot CD.
