A. The disks are formatted GPT or Dynamic. To check this do the following:
1. Log into the source machine
2. Open an Administrative Command Prompt
3. Type "diskpart" (without quotes) and hit enter
4. Type "list disk" (without quotes) and hit enter
5. Does the disk in question have an asterisk (*) under either or both of the Dyn or Gpt columns? If so, that disk is not supported for FLR as outlined in the User Guide and the following KB article:
https://support.quest.com/vranger/kb/76554
6. Type "exit" (without quotes) and hit enter to exit diskpart
7. Close the command prompt
PLEASE NOTE: vRanger 7.2 and above began support for FLR of GPT volumes per the following KB article:
https://support.quest.com/vranger/kb/155323
B. vRanger is on a 2008 server and the server for which you are trying to FLR is a 2012 server. The reason is that the 2012 file system differs from that of the previous 2K3 and 2K8 platforms and therefore in order to perform the FLR vRanger itself needs to be installed on a Windows 2012 Server, as per the following KB article:
