vRanger deletes expired savepoints but VAR files remain. (4038885)

vRanger fails to delete expired VAR files after the delete expired savepoints process occurs.

An antivirus is blocking the “delete.exe” process. As a result, vRanger deletes old savepoints from GUI but the VAR files remain undeleted from the repository.

The antivirus must have the following folder excluded from the scanner:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Quest\vRanger\

This folder contains the folders and executables required to perform the retention policy in order to delete the savepoints.

It may be possible that even excluding the folder and the contents, you may see that the retention policy is not being applied correctly. If this is the case, uninstall or disable the AV and try to trigger the retention policy again to see if the files are being deleted correctly. If the retention policy is enforced without the AV, please engage the AV vendor as additional configuration may be required in order to exclude the executables.
