How to Add a Physical Server to vRanger's Inventory (video) (duplicate of Solution 96825)
Description
A physical server must be added to vRanger's inventory before it can be backed up by vRanger.
Resolution
From the My Inventoryview, click the Physical tab.
Select the Add Icon-->Physical Machine.
On the Add Physical Machine Credentialsdialog, populate:
The DNS Name or IP
User Name and User Passwordfor an account with administrator access on the server
In the Agent Location field, enter the desired directory (on the physical machine) to which the physical client should be installed. The default installation location is:
For 32-bit servers: C:\Program Files (x86)\Quest Software\vRangerPhysicalClient
For 64-bit servers: C:\Program Files\Quest Software\vRangerPhysicalClient
In the Port Number field, enter the desired port for vRanger to use to communicate with the physical client on the source server. This port must be open between vRanger and each physical server. The default port number is 51000
Click Connect.
The server will be displayed in the My Inventory pane. You may also create a Backup Group to combine multiple physical servers into one backup job.
