Description
Some or all backups in a group may inconsistently fail with the error "2786 - Unable to perform rename operation in repository". -
Cause
Too many concurrent backups going to a single repository. -
Resolution
If you start to scale back the number of backups per repository, you will see this error lessen or go away.
You can create an additional repository and split your jobs between to createmore backup bandwidth.
This setting can be changed at Tools | Options | My jobs- Configuration. For "Maximum number of tasks per repository" the default value is 3.
Environmental considerations and testing will determine the best number.
