What is the process to restore an Incremental or Differential Savepoint?

Resolution
To restore an incremental or differential savepoint we require the full set of savepoint backups (Full + number of incrementals or differentials). An incremental or differential savepoint can not be restored on its own.
When we restore an incremental or differential savepoint, a new VM is created, information from full and incr/diff savepoints is merged on the fly and written to the corresponding vmdk in one shot.
Please note: A new VM is always created in a restore process and then the savepoints are written to this VM.
What does not happen: A savepoint selected to be restored does NOT merge into an existing VM
