Exchange logs do not truncate after vRanger backup -
Description
During a quiesced backup the quiesced snapshot appears to be taken correctly, and the backup completes. However, upon inspection, the logfiles not truncated. -
Cause
The exchange databases and logs are located on disks that are mounted in a folder. VSS will not be aware of the drive and the mounted drive will not be included when shadow copies are created.
For truncation to occur the drives that the database and log files reside on will need to be exposed with drive letters.
"The mounted drive will not be included when shadow copies are created. Enable shadow copies only on volumes without mount points or when you do not want the shared resources on the mounted volume to be shadow copied. Alternatively, you can explicitly include the mounted volume in the schedule for shadow copy creation. (For previous versions of a file to be available, the volume must have a drive letter assigned.)"

Resolution
Assign drive letters to the all disks where the databases and log files reside.
