What does "Ping: Socket: Operation not permitted" means? -
Description
When the K1000 Server Hardware Appliance isn't communicating in the network and you try to login to Konsole with netdiag account and have tried to ping other machines or devices in the network and gotten this error messages:
[netdiag@k1000]$ ping 192.168.1.1
ping: socket: Operation not permitted
Other Hardware troubleshooting steps:
- Ping the K1000 Server from external machines and gotten request time out
- Reboot the K1000 Server Appliance without success
- Check the Network port for any LED activities
- Try changing to another network cable
- Have checked all possibilities on K1000 Appliance network infrastructure
