The script used to obtain the Dell service tag of this specific Dell Force10 S55T network switch contains characters that are invalid for the inventory XML. The specific characters are:
g”?†W
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create an agentless device for the aforementioned switch.
2. Force inventory.
Expected results:
Inventory should appear for device.
This issue has been identified as K1-18418 SNMP inventory data from Dell Force10 network switch causes inventory to fail
Inventory fails with following error in kbagentless_log file:
[2015-11-19 14:33:54 -0600] 192.168.110.13 [error] InventoryJob->PerformJob() - The inventory XML for this device contains invalid data.
InvalidXmlException: The inventory XML failed to parse.
Input is not proper UTF-8, indicate encoding !

This issue is resolved in version 6.4 SP2.
