Error when disabling/editing a rule: "Sorry, an error has occurred" -
Description
When trying to disable or edit a rule, the following error appears within the Foglight Console:
"Sorry, an error has occurred.
Click here to generate a support bundle.
Go back to Foglight Console" -
Cause
This can be caused by either of the following:
1. The rule was modified and contains wrong syntax;
2. Allocated memory for the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) are not sufficient enough. -
Resolution
RESOLUTION 1:
Correct the modified syntax of the rule. In this case, the rule called "DB2_Tablespace_Util" was modified.
The original rule condition is:

#tablespace_percent_utilization# >= f4registry("TablespaceUtilCritical") && scope.get("database/name") == "<database name>"The correct syntax of the modification is:#tablespace_percent_utilization# >= f4registry("TablespaceUtilCritical") && scope.get("database.name") == "<database name>"RESOLUTION 2:According to the available memory (RAM) on the FMS machine, increase the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) start up parameter. In the file "<FMS install dir>\config\foglight.config", you will find 3 example settings (laptop friendly, vmware friendly, and 32-bit friendly). It is recommended to set 4 GB if you are running on a Virtual Machine (if the allocated server has 4 GB RAM or less, this value will need to be adjusted).The parameters to change are as follows:
foglight.vm.option0 = "-Xms4096m";
foglight.vm.option1 = "-Xmx4096m";Alternatively, the following formatting can be used:foglight.vm.option0 = "-Xms4g";
foglight.vm.option1 = "-Xmx4g";
