I performed a deep copy within the Navigation panel: Dashboards | Definitions section, the Display area | Definitions: Administration | Alarms | Views | Alarms Grid, into My Definitions.
Because this is a test, I now want to remove this deep copy. So I went to Display area | My Definitions | Views, I see that all entities that reference the Alarms view reside there. I started with the Alarms Grid view and removed it with no problems. Next, I tried to remove other entities. The error I'm getting is:
"This View is referred to by the following other definitions, so it cannot be removed ... Would you like to replace it instead?".
I would like to remove all of these entities from Definitions | My Definitions. I no longer need them and want less of a clutter in Definitions | My Definitions.
This procedure removed all the deep-copied views which were associated with Alarms (Grid).
Confirm you're in the My Definitions area in Dashboards | Configuration | Definitions.
For Public Views.
1) Edit the (Grid) type view for deletion, clear the Public checkbox, then click Save.
2) You will receive a Warning/Error message that setting this may cause other definitions which reference this to no longer be valid.
3) Click Save again.
4) For all the associated views for this dashboard on the Views tab, repeat the deselect of the Public checkbox for ALL views until complete.
5) Now the dashboard can be removed.
NOTE: If upon Deletion the pop-up states the view cannot be removed due to references to other particular view(s), edit the referenced view(s) and clear the Public flag as well, then return to the GRID view type to perform removal.
You'll also need to remove Queries & Renderers by selecting those tabs and removing those entries as well.
