The problem is it appears that the partition parameter (which represents the cluster) in the JavaEE Agent is a foreign concept for Jboss 7 (7.1.2). The usual way of grouping the application servers together and make it look like it belongs to one cluster is through using the appserverinfo parameter in the javaee agent. However, using this feature as overriding the names is not possible with the current version of JavaEE.
development filed an enhancement request - JEE-8003
They were trying to use just appserverinfo flag to override the name and group the servers. They need to simply set two more flags and they should be good to go.
-Dquest.agent.appserverinfo=:JBoss:7.1.2:groupname
-Dcom.quest.pas.agentinfo.JBoss.partition=groupname
-Dcom.quest.pas.agentinfo.JBoss.partitionid=groupid
The combination of groupname + groupid is what makes a unique JBoss domain. So they need to pass the same groupname and groupid for all the servers that needs to be in one group.
In the appserverinfo flag, please note that the first field (which is servername) is the only optional field. They can leave it blank as i have shown in my example or customize the name if they want to.
