How to create RAC One Node agent?
How many RAC One Node agents are required for multiple nodes?
A Oracle Real Application Cluster One Node is a single instance of an Oracle Real Application Cluster-enabled database running on one node in a cluster. This lets you consolidate multiple databases onto a single cluster and thereby adds to the flexibility that Oracle offers for database consolidation while reducing management overhead by providing a standard deployment for highly available Oracle Database editions.
Foglight for Oracle supports RAC One node, and allows monitoring the RAC One node instance.
If at some point, more nodes are added to the single RAC - Foglight for Oracle will support this option as well.
Run Monitor more Instances > Discover one or more Oracle Instance and type in the RAC One Node instance name and Service. The Agent will be created as any other standalone instance, except it will pop up with a message verifying that this is indeed One RAC Node.
Please see the attached AVI file which demonstrates discovering of RAC One node: "Creating ONE RAC Node agent.zip"
The AVI shows monitoring RAC One Node without OS settings. This is just for demonstration purposes, and OS settings can be certainly added.
If more instances are added to the RAC, click on Agent Settings > Administration > Rac One Node and Set the other instances relevant for the RAC
IMPORTANT: On newer versions of the Oracle cartridge, the wizard may display slight differences in the options. Be sure to read the instructions and notes within the wizard itself when configure RAC One agents.
