How to identify Virtual Machines with duplicate vmID -
Cause
The reason why it could be duplicate vmID is because of a cloning, like a template cloning.
This is a known defect request in Foglight referenced by Tracking ID VM-3312.

Resolution
Defect ID VM-3312 is fixed on Foglight for Virtualization Enterprise 8.4. In VMware cartridge 5.7.0

Alternate Workaround:1. Navigate to Administration │ Tooling │ Script Console │ Script │ Add and then run the attached script "FindHostWithDupvmId Improved"
2. Go to Administration | Management Server | Servers | Object CleanupWhile being on Object Cleanup, click on the left side under "VMware Virtual Machine" and then on the right hand locate the host you want to delete and click "Delete" Button.3. You can also run a delete duplicate host with Vmids Null by running "delete_dup_host_with_null_vmId" script. -

Note: Foglight vmID is the equivalent of vc.uuid in VMware Foglight VMUUID is the equivalent of uuid.bios.
In order to see the different Ids for a Virtual Machine, you can go to Administration │ Tooling │ Script Console1. Choose "VMWare Virtual Machine" and click "Do Query"2. Then do a search for the machine you are looking on the right hand Search textbox.3. At the bottom scroll down and find different IDs Types, this is one example:
