By default, when VMware rules are triggered, a notification will be sent to the email address setup as Global Default for the VMware Admin "VMAdmin" variable. In order to route email notifications to a different email address for VMs residing on a specific vCenter, an additional registry value will have to be added for the VMware Virtual Center topology type.
The following steps outline how to route email notifications to a different address:
1. Go to Administration | Rules & Notifications | Manage Registry Variables | Search for VMAdmin | View and Edit Details
2. Verify that the global default value is set to the correct email address
3. Under Registry Values, select VMware Virtual Center, click next
4. Select the vCenter that needs routing the notifications to a different email address. Click Next.
5. Under Static value, enter desired email address. Add more addresses separated by commas. Click Finish.
