Description
In a stretched VMware cluster half of the ESXi is in maintenance mode.This implies that all VMs will run on half of the ESXi in the cluster.But Foglight VMWare Agent includes the resources of the ESXi in maintenance mode in the cluster metrics.How can the ESXi resources in maintenance mode be excluded? -
Cause
Product limitation
The Cluster capacity values, such as Total Hz and Total Memory are submitted by the agent based on the aggregate values of hosts belonging to the cluster at the time of data collection. Hosts in maintenance mode are not removed from the calculations.

Resolution
To exclude the resources in maintenance mode a custom dashboard would be required that determined cluster capacity by a function or dynamic metric on the VMWCluster object that aggregates just from active hosts.Maintenance mode is a property of a host, true/false that would be used to determine if the host was activeAssistance with customization is available from:1.
