The Oracle and DB2 agents cannot validate OS connectivity due to error "{hostname} is not reachable".
Database installation wizard creates the wrong Host agent on AIX server
When adding a DB2 or Oracle database to be monitored an Host agent is being created automatically. This new host agent has the type UnixAgentPlus. If the DB2 or Oracle database is running on AIX server, the UnixAgentPlus will not work. For AIX machines the UnixAgent needs to be created.
WORKAROUND 1
Add an alias for the shortname server name with the IP address to the hosts file on the Foglight Agent Manager (FglAM) server.
WORKAROUND 2
Do not enable OS monitoring in the Host connectivity settings. Create the host agent as a UnixAgent with a reachable hostname or IP address separately.
STATUS
This issue was fixed DB2FOG-160 and has been fixed in the 5.9.4.10 and higher releases of the DB2 database cartridges for the database agent wizards to create a UnixAgent instead of a UnixAgentPlus for AIX hosts.
A Change Request FOG-2307 has also been opened to be included in a future release of the Oracle cartridge.
