Does the SQL Server PI support connecting to a SQL Server instance as a repository if a secured connection is enforced.
The agent wizard has use SSL but the PI repository configuration options do not include a option for this configuration.
All versions of the SQL Server-based PI, supports SSL by default.
The MS JDBC driver will automatically adapt the secure/non-secure JDBC connection base on the setting in SQL Server instance. It does not need any UI option in SQL PI configuration wizard.
The SQL Server agent uses a different JDBC driver: DataDirect JDBC driver. This has some limitations in which is can’t detect the TLS protocol version when only TLS 1.2 is allowed on SQL Server instance. For this reason it is necessary to check the SSL checkbox in the database agent wizard for each agent.
