When a new user logs into Foglight prompts new user login for Usage Feedback.
How can this be turned off?
RESOLUTION 1
A global switch setting for usage feedback was included in the 5.9.5 and higher FMS releases as enhancement FGL-19947.
Feature is enabled by default in the Administration Usage Feedback dashboard.
Click the Disable button.
RESOLUTION 2:
To keep the usage enabled but still disable the usage feedback popup that appears on the first login, run the following script in "Script Console" dashboard with enableFeedback variable set to 'false'
import com.quest.wcf.core.settings.CustomSettings
import com.quest.nitro.startup.StartupConfig
def testMode=false /*true=test mode, only display current status*/
def enableFeedback=false /*false=disable, true=enable, null=use user config*/
def sb=new StringBuffer()
def serverAddr=StartupConfig.getServerHttpRemoteAddress()
sb << "Server: $serverAddr - \n"
changeGlobalFeedback(testMode, enableFeedback,sb)
return sb
def changeGlobalFeedback(testMode, value, sb){
def settings = CustomSettings.getGlobalSettings()
def options = settings.getOptions()
if(!testMode){
sb << "Global Usagefeedback before change:" << options.get("enableFeedback")
options.set("enableFeedback", value)
settings.store()
}
sb << "\nGlobal Usagefeedback after change:" << options.get("enableFeedback")
}
Then login with a test user to confirm that the usage feedback popup does not appear.
Also confirm that the Administration | Support Notifications option is enabled. Enable this if it is not enabled and check the usage feedback popup again.
