Cannot setup OS monitoring for database agent to Windows server "OS validation failed " AND "A connection could not be established" -
Description
When adding operating system (OS) monitoring for SQL Server agent. it fails with error : A connection could not be established.

Cause

Login issue

RPC server is unavailable due to a firewall port blocking the connection or the service not running on the remote host.
CAUSE 3
Missing permissions to connect from a Linux FglAM (Foglight Agent Manager) to a Windows host using WinRM -
Resolution
RESOLUTION 1Ensure that the OS credentials entered into the agent installer or validation utility are valid and are in the DOMAIN\USER format.RESOLUTION 2Review KB94039 RPC Server is Unavailable (0x800706ba)

Configure the Linux FglAM to connect in Powershell:
Set-WSManQuickConfig -force

Set-item WSMan:\localhost\Client\Auth\kerberos true
Set-item WSMan:\localhost\Client\TrustedHosts "*" -force
