RESOLUTION: Note there is no wizard to add hosts, one must enter them manually. Enhancement Request IC-2698 has been submitted for consideration post IC cartridge 5.8.5.2.
Starting from FVE 8.0 there is just one MultiHostProcessMonitorAgent and from there we need to add all the Agents we want to monitor:
Go to VMware Environment | Monitoring | Virtual Machines tile
Select the servernamexx and click on Explorer | Proccesses
Then click on "Process Monitor"
Choose the Agent Manager and click Next
There you can see the host that you are going to monitor, you can click "Add New Hosts"
Add all the DNS or Ip addresses plus the port and the host override name.
Windows Example:
Windows_host_name,-1,host_override_name
Linux Example:
unix_host_name,22,host_override_name
Note: If you want a host to be referenced by a different name, enter the override value on the same line as the host name, separated by a comma. The host name overrides should follow the port number if one is provided.
7. Then add a credential for Windows and Linux to this agent.
8. Finally finish the wizard.
After added the agent, you can add more host this way:
Go to Administration | Agents | Agent Status | locate the MultiHostProccesMonitorAgent
Edit Properties, click on: "Modify the private properties for this agent."
Under"Multiple Hosts Config " click on "Edit" button.
Click on "Add Row" and choose wheter it is either Windows or Linux and add the hostnames or ip addresses.
Linux port 22
Windows port -1
Save all the changes, then deactivate and activate the agent.
Wait for some time and check if the new host is recollecting.
If not monitoring, check the logs. If it complains about DCOM or WINRM configuration do all WINRM configuration which is easier to do and more secure connection, then repeat step 5.
You can check the host is being monitored by going to:
1.VMware Environment | Monitoring | Virtual Machines tile
2. Select the servernamexx and click on Explorer | Proccesses
3. There you will be able to see all information for Memory and Proccesses.
Note: Each host must have WinRM configured
