Federation set up fails due to connectivity issues between the master federator and children, documentation was followed and the ports requested were enabled however the master shows there is no communication. -
Cause
OS firewall is blocking ports

Resolution
Please disable the firewall or open the needed ports.

Our documentation refers to firewall in general but does not mention the internal OS firewall that is enabled by default on most Windows and Linux OS
