What are the required Windows Privileges for installation of Toad for Oracle?
Insufficient privileges to the Toad installation directory to write files to these locations, i.e Toad.ini, desktops.xml, connections.ini etc..
Windows privileges
Standard user - Unable to install Toad for Oracle
Power user - installation is successful. In order to connect to with a 10g client, user must have read access to the 10g client folder. Toad opens, but in order to connect to any databases you must have explicit privileges to Oracle home editor.
Power User with Read & Write privileges granted to Oracle directory - Installation is successful. User can connect to the database.
Administrator user (Preferred): Installation successful. User is able to connect to the database and have no problems with files that are being modified in Toads installation folder.
NOTE: permissions must propagate to the file level
