Upgrade Foglight for Container Management

The latest version of Foglight for Container Management is 3.0.0.

Foglight for Container Management 3.0.0 requires Management Server version 5.9.7, or Foglight Evolve 9.2.

NOTE:
1. If you are upgrading Foglight for Container Management from version 0.9.0, upgrade it to version 1.0.0 first, and then to the latest version.
2. For single cartridge upgrade: the license for version 0.9.0 and 1.0.0 cannot be used for version 2.0.0. The license for version 2.0.0 can be used for the latest version. If you are upgrading from Foglight for Virtualization, Enterprise Edition or Foglight Evolve, you don't need to worry about the license issue.
To upgrade Foglight for Container Management to the latest version:

Download the following packages from Quest Support Portal:
Foglight for Container Management version 3.0.0, which includes the following cartridge files:

DRP-5_8_2.car
c
OptimizerAutomation-5_8_2.car
d
CommonAnalytics-5_8_2.car
e
Optimizer-5_8_2.car

Deactivate all agent instances.

On the Cartridge Inventory dashboard, install and enable the following cartridge files. Do not remove the older version of these cartridges. Install version 3.0.0 over the older version. The sequence of cartridge installation is important because of their dependencies:

On the Container Environment dashboard, on the Administration tab, update all of the existing container agent instances.

Activate all container agent instances.

NOTE: Support for Heapster metrics collector will be removed in the future release, users are encouraged to use the Prometheus metrics collector. Refer to the steps below to migrate from Heapster metrics collector to Prometheus metrics collector.
To migrate from Heapster metrics collector to Prometheus metrics collector:

On the Foglight for Container Management Administration Dashboard, locate the agent you want to migrate.

Click the Migrate icon to launch the Migrate wizard. There are two ways to migrate the Heapster metrics collector to Prometheus metrics collector.
•
If you already have Prometheus in your cluster, choose Yes I have. Enter the namespace and name for the Prometheus server service.
•
If you don't have Prometheus in your cluster yet, choose No I haven't. You can deploy a Prometheus server service to your cluster by using the template we provided.

Upgrade Foglight Hybrid Cloud Manager

The latest version of Foglight Hybrid Cloud Manager is 1.8.0.

Foglight Hybrid Cloud Manager 1.8.0 requires Management Server version 5.9.7, or Foglight Evolve 9.2.

To upgrade Foglight Hybrid Cloud Manager to the latest version:

Download the following packages from Quest Support Portal:
Foglight Hybrid Cloud Manager version 1.8.0, which includes the following cartridge files:

Upgrade Foglight Capacity Director

The latest version of Foglight Capacity Director is 5.8.2.

Foglight Capacity Director 5.8.2 requires Management Server version 5.9.7, or Foglight Evolve 9.2. It also requires Foglight for VMware version 5.8.2 (or later) and Foglight for Hyper-V version 5.8.2 (or later).

To upgrade Foglight Capacity Director to the latest version:

Download the following packages from Quest Support Portal:

Foglight for VMware version 5.8.2 (which includes the vUsage-Feedback-5_8_2.car, DRP-5_8_2.car, Virtual-VMware-5_8_2.car, and Virtual-VMware-Admin-5_8_2.car cartridge files)

Foglight Change Analyzer version 5.8.2 (which includes the CommonAnalytics-5_8_2.car and ChangeAnalyzer-5_8_2.car cartridge files)

Foglight for Hyper-V version 5.8.2 (which includes the vUsage-Feedback-5_8_2.car, DRP-5_8_2.car, Virtual-HyperV-Admin-5_8_2.car, and Virtual-HyperV-5_8_2.car cartridge files)

Upgrade Foglight Cost Director

The latest version of Foglight Cost Director is 5.8.2.

Foglight Cost Director 5.8.2 requires Management Server version 5.9.7, or Foglight Evolve 9.2. It also requires Foglight for VMware Lite version 5.8.2 (or later) and Foglight for Hyper-V Lite version 5.8.2 (or later).

To upgrade Foglight Cost Director to the latest version:
