This 6.1.0 release of Foglight for Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp includes the following known issues at the time of this release.

FOG-3398 CPU, Memory, Network Latency metrics of the Applications might be missing when collecting from NetScaler 13
VFOG-12047

The Logon Count Trend and Logon Duration values appearing on the XenDesktop Explorer do not reflect the current application session metric values.

VFOG-7146

When a session is established for a long time, the NetScaler server transfer rate no longer appears in the Summary - Session view.

To verify the versions of your XenDesktop and XenApp installations:

  1. Open the XenDesktop Studio.
  2. In the left pane, click the parent node Citrix Studio.
  3. In the right pane, open the PowerShell tab and click Launch PowerShell.
  4. Issue the Get-ConfigSite command and observe its output.

 

To verify the version of your NetScaler installation:

  1. Log in to the NetScaler web management console.
  2. Check the top panel for version information. For example:
    Version NS10.1: Build 119.7.nc, Date: Jul 29 2013, 23:52:22

 

To upgrade to the latest version of Foglight for Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp:

  1. Download the following packages from Quest Support Portal:
    • Foglight for VMware version 6.1.0 (which includes the vUsage-Feedback-6_1_0.car, DRP-6_1_0.car, Virtual-VMware-6_1_0.car, and Virtual-VMware-Admin-6_1_0.car catridge files)
    • Foglight for Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp version 6.1.0 (which includes the XenDesktop-6_1_0.car cartridge file)
  2. Deactivate all XenDesktop and NetScaler agent instances.
  3. On the Cartridge Inventory dashboard, install and enable the following cartridge files. Do not remove the older version of these cartridges. Install version 6.0.0 over the older version. The sequence of cartridge installation is important because of their dependencies:
    1. vUsage-Feedback-6_1_0.car
    2. DRP-6_1_0.car
    3. Virtual-VMware-6_1_0.car
      Note: After installing the Virtual-VMware-6_1_0.car cartridge, existing vCenter agents (VC agents) must be updated using the Update Agent button in the VMware Environment > Administration tab.
    4. Virtual-VMware-Admin-6_1_0.car
    5. XenDesktop-6_1_0.car

    For cartridge installation instructions, see "Installing Foglight cartridges" in the Foglight Administration and Configuration Help.

  4. On the XenDesktop Environment dashboard, on the Administration tab, update all of the existing XenDesktop and NetScaler agent instances.
  5. Activate all XenDesktop and NetScaler agent instances. For instructions, see Product Licensing.

Before installing Foglight for Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp, ensure your system meets the following minimum hardware and software requirements.

 

Operating System

Foglight for Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp can be installed on any supported configuration listed in Upgrade and compatibility.

Platform, Memory and Hard Disk Space The platform, memory, and hard disk space requirements for the monitored servers must match the Agent Manager requirements. For complete information, see the System Requirements and Platform Support Guide.
