Files Page

The files written on ASM disks have names that are automatically generated by ASM. Each ASM file is contained within a single ASM disk group but generally is spaced across all the disks within that group.

To open the Files page

  1. Select the Spotlight on Oracle connection in the Spotlight Browser.
  2. Click ASM | Files.

  3. From the Diskgroup list, select the disk group whose disk-related information you want to see.

Disk Details Grid

Notes:

  • Select a row of the Disk Details grid for more information about the ASM File. Refer to the Disk Storage and File Segments controls.
Column Description
Database The name of the database to which the ASM file is assigned.
Type The type of ASM file. Possible types are: CONTROLFILE, DATAFILE, ONLINELOG, ARCHIVELOG, TEMPFILE, BACKUPSET, XTRANSPORT, PARAMETERFILE, DATAGUARDCONFIG, FLASHBACK, CHANGETRACKING, DUMPSET, or AUTOBACKUP.
Name The name of the ASM file (automatically generated by ASM).
Size The size of the ASM file.
Size PCT The size of the ASM file, as a percentage of all files in the ASM disk group.
Allocated The space allocated to the ASM file.
Path The operating-system pathname for the file.
Redundancy The external redundancy of the file (UNPROT, MIRROR, PARITY, or HIGH).
Blocksize The size of blocks in the ASM file (in bytes).

Disk Storage

Disk Storage indicates how the ASM file chosen in the Disk Details grid is stored across the disks in the ASM disk group.

File Segments

File Segments contains a list of all the file segments in the ASM file specified in Disk Details. Data on file segments is available only for DATAFILES and TEMPFILES.

Note: Click to refresh data in the File Segments grid. The refresh links are enabled only when a DATAFILE or TEMPFILE is selected in the Disk Details table. Refreshing file segment details may take some time. During this time, no other data will be collected and no alarms will be raised.
