The NetVault Backup Plug‑in for SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (Plug‑in for SAP ASE), formerly known as Quest® NetVault Backup® Plug-in for Sybase, provides a backup-and-restore solution for protecting corporate data. The plug-in increases application availability by providing fast, online backup of databases for Linux, UNIX, and Windows environments. The main features included in the plug-in are:

Hot Backup: User databases remain online and fully accessible during backup operations, minimizing downtime. |

Supports multiple database servers operating on one machine: Allows backup or restore operations to be applied to any available SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) servers. |

Selectable database backup operations: Through a web-based user interface (WebUI) and automated workflow process, the plug-in offers a centralized way to set up, configure, and define backup and restore policies for your SAP ASE servers. |

Multiple backup modes: Supports full backups and transaction log backups. |

Logs SAP ASE error messages: The SAP ASE software records all messages to private log files. During backup and recovery operations, NetVault Backup intercepts log messages related to the current job and sends a copy to the NetVault Backup log. These messages are then displayed with other NetVault Backup job messages. |
