Toad Data Studio 1.1 - Installation Guide

Import Export Data Dialog

Use the Import Export Data dialog to define a source and destination for data import/export without going directly to the Import or Export Wizard. Use this dialog to consolidate the steps you normally perform prior to opening the Import or Export Wizard. Based on your selections, Toad opens the appropriate page of the Import or the Export Wizard pre-populated with the necessary information.

If you want to import data from a database object in one datasource to a new or existing table in another datasource, use this dialog. It provides the most comprehensive and streamlined method.

For new users, this dialog provides an easy way to get started with the import or export process. For experienced users, this dialog streamlines the steps of opening a connection and selecting a data source and destination. Toad automatically decides if the process is import or export.

Toad provides additional ways to initiate the data import or export process. See the following for more information.

To use the Import Export Data dialog

  1. Select Tools | Import Export Data | Import Export Data or click the Import Export button in the main toolbar.

  2. In the Define Data Import Export page, select a data source and then a destination for the data. Review the following for additional information:
