A Shareplex process does not spawn (4299644)

You have run into a situation whereby if you startup Shareplex, a process (or certain processes) do not spawn. Normally when you activate a config, Capture and other downstream processes spawn with no further action required on your part. Later when you shutdown and startup Shareplex, process come up if they were not earlier stopped by user. Presently you are seeing that when you started Shareplex, some of the processes are there whereas others do not show up. For example, you may have Capture, Read, Export and Post running whereas Import is absent. Attempt to start it manually may or may not succeed. What you are seeing is probably a corruption of services file.

When you issue a command to stop a process, SharePlex writes to a file called services. This file is located in the SharePlex/variable/data directory. This file is used to tell SharePlex what processes not to start when sp_cop is started. When all processes are running, the services file should be empty. When you issue the stop <process> command, it should write entry into this file. When you issue the start <process> command, it will remove all of the entries. The services file can run into corruption due to system problems, a system crash, for example. The solution lies in shutting down Shareplex, removing this file and restarting Shareplex. This should create a new services file which will spawn all the processes as appropriate.
