Symptoms:
As part of the linux/NetVault startup the following error is reported;
touch: cannot touch `/var/lock/subsys/netvault': Read-only file system
Cause:
NetVault is unable to change the contents of files because the file system is read only.
Report the read-only file system to your System Administrator.
Explanation:
An outside event has resulted in the file system being marked read-only. Under these circumstances NetVault is unable to write to the disk, and cannot operate.
