VM's Clustered SQL Services Failover during Hyper-V Backup (VM goes into 'Saved State')

The Hyper-V plugin backup of the Virtual Machine will successfully complete; however, services provided by that VM may go offline during the creation of the Windows VSS snapshot for that VM.
If the VM is a member of a cluster, such as SQL or Exchange, this can cause that cluster node to appear as down and cluster services for that VM can fail over to another machine.
The Hyper-V console will show that the VM goes into a 'Saved State', then application services go unresponsive.
Causa

Windows cannot perform an online backup of the VM's system because “Scoped Snapshots” are enabled.
Resolución

WORKAROUND:
Microsoft fix from TechNet KB Article:

To resolve this, disable “Scoped Snapshots” by creating the following registry value on this computer:
PATH: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SystemRestore\
DWORD: ScopeSnapshots
Value: 0
Microsoft Warning from that KB: Incorrectly editing the registry may severely damage your system. Before making changes to the registry, you should back up any valued data on the computer.
