QMM agents are logging different MAPI errors in the logs
or
QCS is logging errors and FB and Calendar synchronization are not working properly
or
Error code:0x8004011D
or
!< Calendar Receiver > (43621) Incoming packet dispatch failed. Code : 0x8007000e
or
Exchange Server unavalable.
The MAPI CDO might have become corrupted or damaged, especially if everything was working properly before, and access was granted and name resolution was working correctly.
Resolving MAPI Issues.
Stop all QMM agents or QCS Services on the affected host machine.
Uninstall the MAPI CDO from Programs and Features
Run a Search for MAPISVC.inf on the Drive where the OS is installed and rename it to MAPISVC.inf.old
Run a search for fixmapi.exe and then Right click on it and Select Open ( Nothing should happen which is expected behavior)
Go into the Registry and Export then delete the follow registry Key. You will need to run the Registry Editor as the Service account as it is a Current user Key. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles
Download the Latest MAPI CDO and install it
Start the agents (or enable and start the QCS services)
To test MAPI connections using MFCMAPI
After performing the steps under Resolving MAPI Issues download the MFCMAPI utility.
http://mfcmapi.codeplex.com/
Extract to your Server. There is no install just run the exe
Click the Session Menu | Logon..
In the Choose Profile dialog box create a new MAPI Profile with the same information as your QCS connection information.
Once Created click ok then double click on the Mailbox and it should open with no errors.
Note:
Antivirus software can commonly block MAPI connections. Check the logs for any installed AV software or Uninstall and run another MAPI test.
Hardware load balancers can often cause MAPI related issues as well, try bypassing your load balancer and connecting directly to the CAS server.
For QCS, Please ensure the "Quest Collaboration Services Synchronization Service" in services.msc is started with the QCS Service account.
A good troubleshooting step is to use MFCMAPI to verify access and to ensure that the MAPI CDO is still working as expected.
Another good idea is to verify access to the same mailbox or server from another host machine, if this works correctly then the issue is probably indeed caused by the local MAPI CDO.
