“Could not start from localhost” error when starting QCVDS/VDS from GUI in Windows.
Descripción
When installing a new Windows version of the QCVDS/VDS, it couldn’t start running showing the error:
"Could not start <Config_Name> from localhost"
The ‘Show details’ button shows the message:
"Start/Stop command returned 1"
Causa
The issue could be due to a register key which is affecting the way the command line parameters are being run in the QCVDS/VDS product, so whenever a command line operation is launched, its current folder is set to the root folder (probably set by some security reasons).
Resolución
The better way of avoiding this issue is to remove that registry entry (please before doing this just verifies it's not against any security policy in your company):
One Identitry does not provide support for problems that arise from improper modification of the registry. The Windows registry contains information critical to your computer and applications. Make sure you back up the registry before modifying it. For more information on the Windows Registry Editor and how to back up and restore it, refer to Microsoft Article ID 256986 “Description of the Microsoft Windows registry” at Microsoft Support.
