"ERROR: bind() returned -1, errno = 98 Address already in use at sync/sys/net/sync_tcp_server.cpp (4238586)

sp_ctrl> start launcher

returns  the following error:
ERROR: bind() returned -1, errno = 98 Address already in use at sync/sys/net/sync_tcp_server.cpp:73
launcher was trying to start on port=2501

netstat -a | grep 2501 shows: listening

Port 2501 is already in use either by another application or another instance of the launcher (perhaps started from another shareplex instance on the server).

Free up port 2501.   Either  shutdown an application using this port or stop the  other launcher and rerun sp_ctrl> start launcher.
