How to Change the Output Location of a Scheduled Archive
Descripción
With cloud storage options available, moving a scheduled archive from a current storage location to a cloud account may be more applicable for certain environments. Archives require a complete recovery point chain to be useful, and transferring a large Archive across the WAN can take a sizable amount of time. Some Cloud providers allow for a drive to be sent to them, where the data can then be transferred to a cloud account container, then a requirement for smaller incremental transfers across the WAN would take less time.
In this example a Schedule Archive is created with an Output Location local to the core, the archive is then moved to the cloud, and the Scheduled Archive's Output Location is edited to point to the Cloud location. Scheduled Archive continues with no loss of data. The example can be used to change the Output Location to any other Local, Network, or Cloud location.
Resolución
In this example we start with a Local Scheduled Archive and the then we change the Output Location to Amazon S3. With this example you can change the Output Location to any option available in Location Type:
Go to Tools | Archive | Scheduled, Add a local Scheduled Archive. When creating make sure Recycle action is set to Incremental,
Let Archive run at least once.
When the archive is ready to be moved:
Pause Scheduled Archive
Copy all folders under your local destination to your new cloud container.
For example,
Go to Tools | Archive | Scheduled, to the right of your Scheduled Archive select Edit in the drop down:
Change Location type to Cloud. In the example, Amazon S3 was used.
Make sure Container and Folder Name match the location the archive was copied too,
CAUTION: Ensure the Recycle action is set to Incremental, or the next archive will be erased and fail
