The error message "MMC could not create the snap-in" is reported in the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) when trying to reinstall the V5.6.6 .Net agent
I executed the following steps before receiving the error:
1). Installed Foglight .Net on a Windows 2008 server from the FMS.
2). I could not get any data, so I stopped the agent, and uninstalled Foglight .NET via windows.
3). I created a .Net agent from the FMS.
4). I Went to the MMC console and saw the "MMC could not create the snap-in" error message.
RESOLUTION: Rebooting the monitored host addressed the issue.
If rebooting the host does not address the issue, or if you can't reboot the host, log a case and provide the following information and data:
1). The version of the Foglight for .Net cartridge.
2). The version of the FglAM.
3). The Operating system of the monitored host, and the bit version of the monitored host (32 or 64).
4). The version of .Net Framework.
5). Whether the FglAM was installed and run as an Administrative user.
6). Whether the .Net agent was newly installed or upgraded.
7). The steps taken before the error was received.
8). A screen shot of the error.
9). The FglAM support bundle.
10). The FLDN, Application, and System event logs.
