Receiving a general error when trying to launch or open configuration manager:
This issue could be due to a discovery not having a discovery type.
WORKAROUND:
Normally, in the Manage Discovery screen you see all your discoveries and in the Type column is seen the type such as Active Directory, Computer, NTFS, and other types, but if you see a Discovery with an empty or blank discovery type as seen above, then delete it and create a new one. After deleting the affected discovery, close Configuration Manager, restart Enterprise Reporter service, then open Configuration Manager.
