When trying to remove a node but the computer the node was installed on is no longer available. The node removal fails and the node is still shown in the Configuration Manager.
USE ERDBName
UPDATE [tblDiscoveryNode] SET [Status] = 'FailedToDeploy' WHERE [ComputerName] ='ComputerNameOfNode'
The following error may be displayed when you try to remove the node:
"At least one of the selected nodes is currently processing tasks. Either allow the tasks to complete or cancel them, and then try again."
If there are no discoveries running, please run the following SQL script against the ER database which will mark all tasks in the database as finished. Once the script has completed, try removing the node again:
update [tblTask] set Status = 'Finished', AssignedNodeID = null, EndDate = StartDate, SeqNo = null where [Status] not like '%%Finished%%'
update [tblJobRun] set Status = 'Finished', EndDate = StartDate, SeqNo = null where Status not like '%%Finished%%'
