10G Add on NIC is not detected in the WebUI and using "network --show" after installation.
iDRAC is showing that the 10G Add on NIC being present.
It is also verified that the model of 10G NIC installed is supported.
RESOLUTION
1. Please run the following command after any new hardware installation
system --upgrade
to ensure the correct firmware/drivers are being loaded into the OS.
After this is run, running "system --show --hardware" will show the NIC being listed.
2. If the new NICs are still not showing up in "network --show", a network factory reset is required to force the system to rescan and detect all NIC.
This will only affect the network configuration.
An iDRAC console or physical access of the server is recommended during this step as the network configuration will be reset during this step so the network connection might be broken.
Please run the following command
network --factory_reset --auto_bonding_speed 10G
or
network --factory_reset --auto_bonding_speed 1G
The above command will determine which type of NIC (1G or 10G) being included in the default bond0.
After the above command, please run
system --reboot
to ensure the new configuration taking effect.
After the network factory reset, the new 10G NIC ports should be detected as "eth4 eth5" or "eth6 eth7"
It might be noticed that the bonding and IP configuration might be different than before the network factory reset.
Please remove NIC ports not needed from bond0 and reconfigure the network again.
