RDCIFS doesn’t require a mapping of DR share to drive letter, in order for it to work. Basically, RapidCIFS doesn’t care how it’s mounted (URL or drive letter) As long as we have RDCIFS driver correctly installed/configured it should work fine.
More Tidbits, RapidCIFS guide says the container has to be mounted in order to work with the driver, if the drive is not mounted RapidCIFS doesn’t work. The driver kicks in for larger files to transfer data. Currently this only works to Bond0, so while you could mount to any other interface the transport for rapidCIFS will always occur to bond0.
