When vRanger Pro DPP is installed on Windows 2008, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, and an ESXi or LAN-Free (fiber) backup is run, backups are falsely listed as “successful” .
The LAN-Free feature and ESXi backups are not currently supported on Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, or Windows 7. The product documentation has been updated to reflect this.
To use these features, install vRanger Pro DPP on a machine running a supported operating system (Windows Server 2003, for example).
Note that LAN-Free backups requires that vRanger Pro DPP is installed on a physical machine.
